#PCAFConsultation | The National Sectoral Committee (NSC) on Corn and Feed Crops is exploring ways to revive Philippine exports of corn silage to South Korea. The Committee met on July 16, 2024, and discussed the potential of this market based on the country's past trade relations with South Korea.NSC on Corn and Feed Crops Chairperson Romualdo Elvira Jr., President of the Philippine Maize Federation Inc., emphasized the high demand for corn silage in South Korea's dairy industry, which presents an opportunity for Filipino corn and dairy farmers. Elvira highlighted a successful export venture in 2013 facilitated by the Department of Agriculture, through its National Corn Program. To capitalize on this potential, the NSC recommended to the PCAF the establishment of an ad hoc technical working group (TWG).
