PCAF representatives discuss the programs, activities and projects of the agency’s gender and development.

The Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF) joined more than 30 representatives from the national government offices, social enterprises, and other private sector organizations to talk about agricultural value chain (AVC) initiatives using benchmarking tools   on October 6, 2022 in Quezon City.

The activity titled “A Dialogue and Planning Workshop on Co-Creating an Enabling Environment for Women in AVCs: Towards Promoting Transformational Partnerships and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE)” was spearheaded by the Institute of Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA), together with the United Nations Women.

The dialogue provided an opportunity for the participants to learn on the transformational AVC guidelines and benchmarks as potential framework and tools in pursuing WEE in AVC initiatives, and created an atmosphere where private stakeholders shared experiences, challenges and realizations in adopting the benchmarking tools in their respective AVCs.

The participants were divided into three groups where they reviewed their respective key performance indicators and targets, and presented their recommendations on how they could mainstream these benchmarking tools in their respective agencies’ and organizations’ strategies and programs.

PCAF, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System, committed to present and involve its nationwide network of agriculture and fishery volunteer-partners in using the benchmarking tools. | JC
