Good morning!
This is a great day for us to ensure that our thoughts and actions are unified with our mission— to create a better future for the agriculture and fishery sector.
As we go through the set of activities of our Mid-Year Performance Review and Planning Workshop, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who are working hard to make PCAF an agency that adds impact to the growth of the agriculture and fishery industry through upholding multi-stakeholder engagement. This commitment will encourage formulation of policy recommendations that help foster progress in the sector.
This year’s planning workshop aims to generate shared understanding and collective decision-making on how to further improve the performance of our agency, as well as enhance the engagement of its Advisory Special Bodies, the secretariat and all the employees.
Let us remember that the objectives of this workshop can only be attained by assessing and evaluating our performance in the 1st semester. We also look forward to the things we can further do and improve as we go along on our planned goals.
Given the importance of assessment as a critical part of any organization, we will evaluate if we are still on track on attaining our targets. By doing this, we will be able to find out measures to improve our engagement, transparency and accountability as an agency to further deliver great results.
A good planning process, as well as monitoring of accomplishments will help us define and attain our vision, purpose, specific objectives, strategies, implementation plans and evaluation mechanisms.
When everything is definite and unclouded, increased in knowledge, improved skills, and enhanced attitude to make our action-plans will be attainable.
Of course, everything will be possible with teamwork and open mindedness.
I am sure that by the end of this activity, we will all have a clearer point of view on our tasks and even surpass our targets by having Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-Bound, Exciting and Rewarding or SMARTER actions.
As I look beyond this day, the fulfillment of what we have collaborated and set for the second semester of this year will not be far reaching. With this, I am encouraging everyone to participate holistically and enthusiastically for us to achieve a significant development for PCAF and eventually to the entire sector.
