“Rethink” Learning Strategy. A total of 13 regional winners of the Search for Outstanding Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) chairpersons and secretariat-coordinators finally claimed their additional prize in March through an expository trip.
The expository trip was part of the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries’ (PCAF) reward to last year’s Outstanding MAFC chairpersons and secretariat-coordinator regional winners. It aims to further extend their knowledge and expose them into Gawad Saka’s national MAFC winners’ best practices in conducting AFC works and how projects are endorsed and implemented.
The first group, composed of five regional winners from Mindanao and Bicol Regions, visited MAFC Dingras in Ilocos Norte and CAFC Vigan City in Ilocos Sur on March 12 to 15, 2019. The second group, composed of eight regional winners from Cordillera Autonomous Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon, visited MAFC Ocampo and Canaman, both in Camarines Sur on March 25 to 29, 2019.

Aside from attending MAFC meetings, where they learned their fellow AFCs’ best practices, they also visited key personalities of the Department of Agriculture regional offices and local government units. | JC (Photos courtesy of PCAF-Partnership Development Division)
