Winners will be announced on September 18.The initiative emerged as a recommendation from the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries' Committee on Climate Change, Environment, and Natural Resources (CCENR) through Policy Resolution No. 9, Series of 2024. The resolution calls on the Department of Agriculture's Climate Resilient Agriculture Office (DA-CRAO) to lead the annual celebration.The CCENR emphasizes the S***** M****’s crucial role in protecting the Philippines from natural disasters like typhoons and floods. It also highlights it's unique biodiversity, as indicated in Proclamation No. 413, Series of 2012.
